This could be you

Founded in 2015, the Misericordia Young Professionals Council (MYPC) works alongside the Misericordia community to advance the organization's mission. Members drive awareness through fundraising initiatives, attend Misericordia events, and champion causes connected to the mission — all with the goal of expanding and strengthening the supporter community. The MYPC also focuses on cultivating new connections and creating opportunities that engage young professionals and emerging leaders.

Red Heart Bash

Every February we celebrate Misericordia with friends, colleagues and other members of the community – all to raise funds for Mis! In 2026, we celebrated our 10th annual Red Heart Bash. Stay tuned for information on our next event!

How We Show Up

The MYPC meets quarterly to explore volunteer opportunities, plan fundraising events, and hear from guest speakers who support members' professional development. From hands-on volunteer experiences with Misericordia residents on campus to a strong presence as Candy Days volunteers at Wrigley Field , MYPC members show up where it counts.

Why Join?

Membership comes with meaningful benefits: affiliation with an established Chicago nonprofit, the opportunity to give back through time and talent, a growing network of like-minded young professionals, and a deeper understanding of developmental disabilities and the people they affect. The holidays are an especially vibrant time at Misericordia — a chance to connect, celebrate, and build lasting friendships with a community that truly inspires.
